Israel is the light upon the Nations. Yet, what is a nation, and how will Israel keep to serve those nations?
A nation is, essentially, a representative of the polis structure that was invented in Mesopotamia many thousand years ago. In scripture we get an echo of past understandings of the nation as an idea.
Abraham came from Ur, a city-state. There was the city state of Babylon, also written in scripture. There were like Eridu, Athens, Sparta.
Each city-state is different, according to its constitution, so supporting the nations around the world is more than just one size fits all. It is the understanding of each nation, and according to its own virtues, applying wisdom for the nation to flourish.
Often there is a king at the helm of the nation, and as such it is the work of the king to make his nation flourish. Here at Jews News, it is our mission to MAKE that mission our own, and DO IT.
